What to do if your screening has been rejected:
If your application has been rejected, this means you have not supplied correct documentation/information or have not fully completed your application form.
Our compliance team will send you an email to inform you that your application has been rejected and the reason for this. We will also inform your employer that your application has been rejected, they will be able to view the reason why and may be able to assist you in completing it correctly.
Your screening can be rejected for the following reasons:
- No Work/Education History has been entered
- No information in the Employment Gaps section
- No valid Proof of Identity
- No valid Proof of Address
All documents and information that we have asked for at this stage must be uploaded to your application form by logging in and heading to the correct part of the application form. Please do not just email us the requested document or list of employments, we are unable to receive and re-check your application until you correctly re-submit.
No Work/Education History has been entered
Your work/education history must be completed fully. Please check the Work/Education History guide on how to correctly do this.
The more information you give us now, the quicker we will be able to complete your screening and the sooner you will be able to begin working.
If this is the only area you need to complete, you must press "Submit" after filling it in so your application comes through to us as new.
No information in the Employment Gaps section
If you have not filled in any work/education history records, we need to know what you have been doing and how you have been supporting yourself for the time frame of your screening (usually 5 years). Please note, any information you give in this section must be backed up by documentation, so please answer truthfully. If you leave the work/education history section blank and write "working" in the employment gaps section, we will reject your application back to you to fill in where you were working correctly. Supplying your HMRC 5 year employment statement or a C.V. is NOT sufficient.
No valid Proof of Identity or No valid Proof of Address
If you have been rejected for your proof of ID, it could be that it is not an acceptable document or it does not match your current legal name. If you have been rejected for your proof of address, it could be that it is not an acceptable document or it does not match your current address that you have provided in your application form. Important Note: DO NOT upload password protected documents. We cannot see them and they can corrupt the rest of your application form, resulting in rejection.
Common Questions and Answers
Q. I have uploaded my HMRC 5 year employment history and/or CV, why do I need to fill in my work/education history?
A. We require you to fill this section in because we need the exact dates and contact details for your employments. Without this we cannot ask them for a reference. Make sure you fill in as much information as possible. If you do not know these details, please use google to find them.
Q. I have been asked to upload the front/back of my residence permit but it will only let me upload one document in the proof of ID section?
A. You are welcome to add any additional documents to the "Add Proof of Earnings" section. We can rearrange them when we look at your application.
Q. What if the document I have provided is on the list of acceptable documents?
A. Check the date of issue on your document. If the document is not clearly dated within the acceptable time frame, we will reject your application. If the document is clearly in date, check what address you have listed as your "current address" on your application form. If this does not match your document, we will reject your application.
Q. I cannot upload a new proof of address/proof of ID as there is a document in there already. What do I do?
A. When you click "Choose file" and upload a new document, it will add the new document to your documents log and will be visible to us.
Q. I have recently moved house and have no documents in my new address. What do I do?
A. Changing your address on your online banking is the quickest way to get a proof of address document. Simply log in to your online banking, update your address details, generate a bank statement and save it. Alternatively, ask your employer to update your address details and get them to send you your latest payslip.
How to upload a new document
1. Log in to your application.
2. Go to the "Documents" section of your application form. Click "Choose file" and upload a valid proof of identity or address from the lists of acceptable documents.
3. Once your document has been successfully uploaded, scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Submit". This will take you back to the original page. If you have completed everything required, you must then click "Submit" again, to send us your application form.
