1. Application form

Your new employer will send you an application request via email. This email will include a link which will take you to your application form where you can register and get started. You MUST use the email address that the application form was emailed to. You CANNOT log in using any other email address. You will need to log in and fill in your application form FULLY.

PLEASE NOTE: Once you have filled in and submitted your application, it will be locked. Unless your application is rejected, you will not be able to log back in and amend your application or upload any new documents.

Our cut off for new applications is 9am. If you submit your application after this time, it will not be reviewed until the next working day.

 

2. Review

From 9am Monday-Friday (excluding public holidays and the week between Christmas and New Years), our compliance team will check that you have filled in your application correctly and that you have uploaded the correct documentation.

At this stage your application is either accepted or rejected. If we accept your application, we will then carry out the data checks the same day.

 

3. Data checks

The data checks consist of:

  • ID check – we will check that the information on your ID document matches the information on your screening.
  • Address check – we will check that the address on your proof of address document matches the current address on your screening.
  • Digital Right to Work – we will send you an email containing a link to complete this. This is separate to your initial application form.
  • Credit check – we will check for any adverse credit information such as CCJs or bankruptcy.
  • Sanctions check – we will check for any known sanctions against you.
  • Directorship check – we will check companies house for any past or present directorships matching your details.
  • SIA licence check – we will check the SIA database for any valid licences you hold.
  • DBS check - if your application includes a DBS check, this will be submitted for you.

We may contact you if we require clarification or any additional documents.

 

4. Employment/Education history

The next working day after data checks are completed, your application is assigned to one of our screening consultants. They will then be in contact with you regarding anything else needed. Click the following for further information on why and how we will contact you.

At this point we will look at the information you have provided in your work/education history and begin the process of documenting this entire period. We will start by contacting your previous employers and education providers to obtain references confirming the dates you have worked/studied there.

Please note: If you do not want us to contact a previous employer, you must make sure you put "DO NOT CONTACT"  in the contact details on your application form so our screening team are aware.

 

5. Limited

Once your screening has passed the initial checks, your employer will receive a "Limited certificate". This means you can start working for your employer.

THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOUR SCREENING IS COMPLETE. We may still require some more information or documentation from you, so please keep an eye out for any contact from ourselves.

Cooperation with our screening team will ensure your screening is completed quickly and efficiently, preventing any delays in starting your employment.

 

6. Sign Off

Once we have fully completed your screening, it goes back to our compliance team for final checks to make sure it complies with the BS7858 Standard. If we have everything we need and your screening is compliant, we will send the final report to your employer. We cannot send the final report directly to you. If you have not heard from us for a while and are unsure if there is anything else required, we advise you to contact your employer first to see if they have received the final report. You employer has access to the progress of your screening and can usually advise if anything else is required.
